Coronation Day.

From the opinions expressed at the public meeting on Saturday last by the heads of the various bodies in our midst, it would seem that the celebration of Coronation Day in Patea bids fair to bo a fiasco unless the Council

to.night come to the rescue and adopt a suitable programme similar to those agreed upon in other (own®. To allow the day to pass without any d-finite and properly organised, celebration would bo to place a stigma upon the town that would be retu '-inhered against those responsible for many years to come As far as one can see at present, it is a case of '“What is everybody’s business is nobody’s business.” The various bodies, such as territorials, school cadets and others are both ready and willing to assist in any programme that may bo decided upon. It is for the controlling authority, the Borough Council to say what this programme shall be,
