CRICKET.
The fifth test match was commenced at Sydney on Friday. Jones won the toss and sent the Australians in to bat on a wet wicket. The Australians were dismissed for 137, Gregory 44, and Noble 35 being the chief scorers. Barnes took 7 wickets for 60 and Crawford 3 for 52. At the drawing of stumps on Friday, -the Englishmen had lost 1 wicket for 116. On Saturday the score was carried to 187 for 3 wickets, when play had to bo abandoned on account of rain. Hobbs made 72, and Gunn is not out 77.
