LONDON WOOL SALES.

The wool sold for Home consumption totalled 52,000 bales, for the Continent 56,000 bales, for America 2000 bales, held over 15,000 bales. Best greasy combing merinos met a steady demand at 5 to 7£ per cent, below, short faulty 10 to 15 per cent. crossbred slipes 5 to 10 per cent., poor conditioned parcels 10 per cent., best lambs 5 per cent., faulty 7J to 10 per cent.

ADDINGTON SALE,

At the Addington live stock market on Wednesday there was a fairly large entry of stock and a good attendance. In fat cattle except very prime prices were a shade easier. Fat lambs were barely up to last week’s sale and store sheep met with a limited demand, The entry of store sheep yas larger than last week, but quality not very good, and, in consequence of the continued dry weather, the demand was limited and a number of lots were passed in. The yarding of fat lambs was the largest of this season, the quality on the whole being good. There was a fair number for export, though competition was not keen, and prices were barely up to last week’s rates. Tegs made 16s 6dtol7slod, medium weights 14s to 16s, lighter 12s 6d to 13s 6d,

There was a good yarding of fat sheep. The beef supply comprised 381 head this number being in excess of the demand. The sale was uneven throughout, and, except for the better class of beef, late rates were not maintained. Steers made £6 to £ll 17s 6d, heifers £5 to £9 17s 6d, and cows £5 15s to £8 10s, equal to 24s to 27s 6d for prime and 20s to 23s for medium, per lOOlbs, Pigs were entered in fairly large numbers and the market opened weaker. Baconers made 48s to 60s, equal to 5d to s£d per lb; porkers 34s to 445, equal to 5Jd per lb; and chopers sold up to £4 sa.

Sheep; Ewes and lambs 19s 2d to 245, fat ewes 20s Id. Cattle; Yearling heifers 30a to 33s 6d, 2 year steers £3 to £3 12s, 2£ year steers £4 8s 6d, 2 to 2J year Polled Angus steers £3 10s, fat cows £5 6s.
