THE HALF-HOLIDAY.
Auckland, July 19. —Mr Northcroft, S.M., beard again to-day the case Ferguson v. Dudley, alleged breach of the Shops and Shop Assistants Act. . Evidence was given that the city of Auckland had no delegates at the Conference. and that notice of this fact was conveyed to the Government before the Conference met. His Worship ruled that the notice was not conclusive, as it was made in the absence of jurisdiction; that the proceedings of the Conference were invalid, and that nobody had been appointed. He dismissed the case. Notice of appeal was given by Mr Tole.
