NORTH IRELAND OUTLAWS

SITUATION IN HAND. (British Official Wireless ) RUGBY, Sept. 30. Mr Churchill, in the House of Commons, said that the principal responsibility for dealing with criminal outrages by armed outlaws in Northern Ireland lay with tlie civil authorities, who should call for military assistance if necessary. He told a questioner that it was not believed that tine establishment of an effective boundary under military control between the United Kingdom and neutral land frontiers was the best method of preventing such, outrages and leakage of information about the movements of the British and United States Forces in Northern Ireland. Other measures had been taken which, he was advised, were more appropriate, and lie understood that the Government of Northern Ireland was satisfied that the situation was well in hand.
