NGATURI SCHOOL PICNIC.

POPULAR ANNUAL EVENT

The Ngaturi School annual picnic was held in the schoolgrounds under ideal weather conditions on Friday after noon. There was a large attendance of parents and settlers arid tbe races were well handicapped by the teacher Miss Wiffin. Results are as follow 7 :— Boys race: G. Dick 1, B. Piercv 2, S. Draper 3. Girls race: D. Pierey 1, D. Anderson 2, R. Dick 3. Tots race: E. Lamor.d 1, V. Berry 2, M. Marshall 3. Boys sack: S. Draper 1, J. Di.ck 2, G. Dick 3. Girls sack: D. Pierey 1, R. Dick 2, D. Anderson 3. Tyre race (boys) S. Draper 1. John Dick 2, G. Dick 3; (girls): R. Dick 1, D. Anderson 2, D. Pierey 3. 3-legged race: R. Dick and S. Draper 1 Skipping: Dawn Pierey 1, R, Dick 2. Ladies race: Miss M. Dick 1, Miss B Wiffen 2. Flappers race: Miss S. Ammundsen 1, Miss E. Dick 2. Recruits race: Mr C. Stringffcllow 1, Mr A. Dick 2. NailPiercy 2. Boys jump: N. Berry 1, driving: Mrs Strin gfellov 1, Mr„ Ray Stringfellow 2. High jump: Sidney Draper 1, Rene Dick 2. The afternoon concluded with, relay races and an exciting game of rounders.
