Eurpean events are directly concerning the wool producing countries owing to the dislocation of textile exports to certain nations. The German acquisition of Memei means that Yorkshire’s valuable wool trade with Lithuania has been brought to a a standstill at least temporarily as no Yorkshire firm is at present willing to risk shipping to Memei. Business with the former Czechoslovakia and Rumania is also impossible.
