MILK FOR CHEESE-MAKING.
NEW SYSTEM OF PAYMENT. Electric Telegraph—Press Association NEW PLYMOUTH. Sept 28. The adoption of a system of payment for milk for cheese-making on its cheese-making capacity was recommended to the Taranaki dairy companies manufacturing cheese by the annual meeting of the Federation of Taranaki Dairy Companies at Stratford to-day. The meeting was addressed by Dr. F. H. McDowall, of the Dairy Research Institute, Palmerston North, who traced his investigations leading to the formulation of the system for use in cheese factories. The method was also commended by Mr Patterson, secretary-manager of the lamaki Dairy Company, Auckland, where it has been tried and found satisfactory.
