The cheese market has also greatly improved, but is now slightly easier. The closing price for white and coloured oil June 11 was 6ls 6d, an advance of 3d to 3s 6d per cwt on the week, in contrast with 44a for June 12, 1935. CLEARINGSA LE. •Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on the clearing sale of dairv stock and horses held on account of Mr H. W. Hall, of Ashhurst. We report a highly satisfactory sale, the cows, although !>eing chieflv September and October culvers, were a typey lot, competition right through being keen with values realised proving very satisfactory. to the vendor. The three horses submitted also sold freely. Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report on their Ashhurst sale, when a small yarding of sheep and a iair yarding of cattle was offered. The sheep met a good demand and the cattle, which included some good quality beef, were disposed of at late rates.

SALE OF MAKIXO JERSEYS. The New Zealand Farmers’ Cooperative Distributing Co., Ltd. report on the sale of pedigree and grade Jerseys, held on account of Mr P. R. Simpson, Makino. Owing to the very rough weather there was a. small attendance. Although the bidding was inclined to drag, the prices realised wore fairly satisfactory, and compare favourably with recent sales of similar cattle. The average price worked out at lO guineas.
