Following a. full discussion, resolutions were unanimously carried by the Waipukurau Chamber ot Commerce expressing appreciation of the great service and value of the wellequipped centrally-situated, pountry hospitals, also the evidence of efficient and more economical administration than in the case of the majority of large- institutions, justifying a strong protest against the centralisation proposal of thq Wellington Hospital Board. A motion was likewise carried opposing ally further wages and salary reductions or increase of unemployment levies pending an effective means to reduce the- interest burden in keeping with the- decline o.f productive values and spending power, also favouring an, income taxation graduation limit to, extend beyond tha present limit which is much he,low the. maximum of individual incomes.
