ANGLICAN CHURCH

SUNDAY SCHOOL PICNIC. The annual Sunday school picnic of St. Peter’s Anglican Church, held at Carnival Park on Saturday, proved to he one of the best gatherings of its kind for years. A very large number of parents arid children were in attendance and an eventful day was spent in games, races, rounders, and with lolly scrambles. The children, needless to say, did full justice to the lunch and tea provided by the Sunday school authorities. Those in charge of activities were the Rev. G. W. Fenwick, Mr G. H aines, Miss Hilary Horrax and the teachers. The prize-giving ceremony was conducted by Rev." Fenwick, who announced that in the recent Diocesan Sunday School examination 25 out of a total of 29 obtained passes locally. The vicar’s special prizes to the scholars obtaining the 'highest marks in each grade were won by Alary Adams 97 per cent, Margaret Fenwick 87 per cent, John Adams and Chris Smith 77 per cent, Lewis Hamilton 79 per cent, and Arthur Smith 73 per cent. Mr E. P. Badger’s silver medal for the best all-round pupil (attendance. behaviour and work) in the school has not yet been allotted. Thanks are due to Air Badger f<sr his trophy, Mr A. IV. White for his donatibTt of cordials, Airs G. Jones for box of lollies, and to all others who contributed towards the prize fund.
