WAIPUKURAU VENDOR FINED. Electric Telegraph—Press Association WAIPUKURAU. This Day. At the Magistrate’s Court this morning before the Magistrate (Mr Mowlem) Len Edlershaw (Takapau) was charged with selling ice-cream, containing less than ten part per centum of milk fat. The Magistrate said a breach of the Pure Foods and Drugs Act could not be overlooked. Defendant manufactured his own ice-cream. and should have known of the deficiency. The public were entitled to protection. The case was serious in all conscience. A conviction and r.v fine of £5 was imposed with costs 235.
