ECHO OF STATE ELECTIONS. United Press Assn —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, December 22. Continuing the evidence in the Fitzgibbons bribery case, Jarvie denied that lie had received £3OO from Fitzgibbons for himself or for the X ational Party funds. Air AVinever, K.C., counsel for Fitzgibbons, said: “Then you can explain why Fitzgibbons, when drawing £2OO from his bank, also withdrew £300.” Jarvie: “No.” Jarvie admitted that when the Premier, Mr Bavin, was discussing an attempt to bribe Bruntnell the Premier asked whether there was a rumour about the £3OO as well as the £2OO, to which Jarvie replied: “Yes, \t)here is a rumour,’’ but lie (Jarvie) had no knowledge whether he was implicated. Air Windever: “AVhat was the rumour ?”

Jarvie: “That the £.500 had been withdrawn, the £2OO having reached Hon. A. Bruntnell and some suggestion. that the £3OO reached me, which certainly was not correct. The police tendered a statement by Fitzgibbons in which he declared he had withdrawn £SOO, not £2OO, which was intended for the party funds.

The case was adjourned till Alonday.
