BRITISH PARLIAMENT OPENS HISTORIC CEREMONY. United Press Assn—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, November 6. Parliament duly opened, the historic ceremony commencing with thei Yeoman of the Guards carrying candles and lanterns searching the labyrinth of cellars for a possible Guy Fawkes. A big crowd in the Mall and Westminster greeted the King Though a heavy fog interfered with the military display fortunately it began vo lift before Their Majesties left Buckingham. so, Londoners wore not deprived of tho spectacle, of five carriages of State,, each drawn by four bays, escorted by the Life Guards. Meanwhile Peers robed in scarlet ermine and Peeresses wearing tiaras, gathered in tlic gilded chamber The Duke of York took liis seat on the front bench immediately below the throne. The, gaiety of the, scene was increased by the uniforms of the -Ambassadors and several Indian Princes and their wives in the galleries. Mr Baldwin and Air Macdonald <- ntarc.l the House or Lords just before Dm Royal procession.
