A vigorous justification of the change m the control 0 f the railway service was delivered by tlie Prime A 1 inister (Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates) in the House of Representatives last night, when replying to a long debate on the Government Railways Amendment Bib. Air Coates repeated that the policy remained with the A! inister, and said bis attitude towards the general manager was; “Go ahead, my boy. . . put tlie policy into operation.”
