YESTERDAY’S BUSINESS IN WORKING AIOOD. The House of Representatives was again in working mood yesterday. A considerable amount of detailed business xvas disposed of at the afternoon sitting, a sheaf of reports, including a number of final reports, being received from Select Committees. The annual report of t-lie Rural Intermediate Credit Board, covering the first six months’ operation of the new scheme of farmers’ finance, was presented. At the evening sitting the House proceeded to the second leadins of the Land Laws Amendment BU, a policy measure proxiding for a State-assisted scheme for the closer settlement of prixatelv-owned lands in Nexx- Zealand. The proposals were debated at length.
