FIRE AT GARAGE

MUCH STOCK DESTROYED, Electric Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND, This Day. Early this morning a fire occurred on the premises of Carter Bros., garage proprietors, at Mt. Eden road. It originated in rubbish near a large heap of motor tyres valued at £7OO, all of which were destroyed. Oil and benzine added to the conflagration, but the brigade saved the main building. In regard to the fire at Papatoetoe, the insurances were £250 on the building, and £2750 on the contents.
