SELLING OR CONSIGNING P OPINION DIVIDED/ There were ten shareholders present at the annual meeting ot the Mangahao Co-operative Cheese Company. Ltd., held in the Ruawhata schoolroom on Saturday morning. Mr R. C. Yatos (chairman ot directors) presided. In moving the adoption ol the annual report and balance sheet, tlie chairman said that climatic conditions, during the pa*>t season, had been good and the production ot milk had increased. There had been au early drought. January art February proving the driest months experienced for a long time, but good rain early in March had brought away the pastures and increased the season’s output by 151 tons. The season’s output had been sold on an f.o.b. basis, the first half at bid which was considered good at tho time. The result had given shareholders the benefit ol a big advance and the whole of the suppliers had been perfectly satisfied. Disposal of" the rest of the season's make had li -on delayed as long as possible but finally an offer of Bid had been accepted. However, it happened that tlie market for clieeee afterwards rose which was contrary to events of - iie previous year. They had benefitted by the increased returns, the operations of the Herd Testing Associption in the district helping them in this direction. Mi- Bairst-ow moved that it be a recommendation to the directors act to dispone of any chocs.® prior to tho annual meeting. He thought that in the past the company had lest a considerable amount by being too hasty. Though they had hung on as long as they could i;.st year still the -ale had. proved a bad deal. The motion was seconded bv Mr Scales. Mr Milne moved as an amendment that a sale bo not effected tdl a. moetMig of suppliers had been called. By waiting till the annual meeting a good offer might be lost. Mr W. D. Harris seconded the amendment, which met with general approval and «« s cairied unanimously. Mr J. T. Alison thought that the coni |mny should adopt Daylight Saving again thi.s year in order to make the suppliers roll up mere promptly at tlie factory, thereby shortening operations there, and saving the fne) bill as had proved tlie case last season.
