During the Christmas holidays the following competitions were played on the local howling green:— Pairs: Jennings and Ransom 23 v. Harrison and Walsh 21. Russell and Groves 20 v. Day and Stevenson 16; Sinclair and McSlierry 26 v. Chatwin and Hewat 11 ; Jennings and Ransom 21 v. Sinclair and McSherry 16. Singles: Sinclair 23 v. AA alsh 19; AValsh 23 v. Jennings 10; Paterson 22 v. AA’alsh 17; AA'alsh 18 v. Chatwin 13; Alf Bisset 22 v. AValsh 6; Paterson 17 v. Sinclair 16; Paterson 20 v. Chatwin 16. . A'ice-President’s Buckles: Chatwin and Burrell 18 v. Bentley and Ransom 23; Bentley and Ransom 15 v. Jennings and AValsh 21, At the New A'ear tournament at Woodville. Sinclair, Russell, Chatwin, and Hewat even four games out of six. . ... AA'akeman and Jennings will represent Pahiatua in the Manawatu centre game against the visiting British 'bowlers on Thursday next, on the Palmerston North green.
