The* New Zealand Rugby touring team, in its first match with a French fifteen yesterday, won by the solid margin of 37 points to 8. The match was played at Colombes, and marks the All Blacks’ twenitvninth successive win. The ofcher game in France will be played against a French National team at Toulouse on Sut-ciay next, January 18th. A STRONG FIFTEEN. The All Black team which met France was as follows:—Full-back. Nepia ; Three-quarters. Sven son, Lucas, Hart; Five-eighths, McGregor (1), Cooke (2) ; Half-back," Dailey; Wing-forward, Porter; Hookers, Donald, Irvine ; Lock, Harvey: Supports, M. Brownlie 1 , C. Brownlie; Breakaways, White, Cupples. McGregor replaced NICHOLLS. LONDON, January 10 The All Blacks’ team for Sunday was altered. McGregor replacing Nicholls. whose knee was not sufficiently strong. There is every prospect of fine weather, though the* ground is inclined to softness. A record attendance is expected. The team lias been given a wonderful reception everywhere. Members are sanguine as to the result. Fifteen hundred Anglo New’ Zealanders have purchased a massivo loving cup for presentation to the All Blacks at the "Hotel Cecil on January 21st, to commemorate their unbeaten record. Each player will receive a small replica. WELSHMAN REFEREES. PARIS. January R). Another Welshman, Air Llwellyn, of Llanelly, will referee Sunday’s match. Great excitement prevails. The French are pleased tha.t the All Blacks are putting a strong fifteen in the field. It is considered the French selection practically equals the official French team, making up in brilliance what it lacks in strength and cohesion. The French Government will be represented by tlie Un-der-Secretary for Technical Instruction. Madame Herriot will also attend the match, for which the booking receipts total one hundred thousand francs.
It has been decided to open a -pecirl railway station and the Stadium used during the Olympic games General Gouraud. of Dardanelles fame will receive the All Blacks before they place a wreath on the tomb of The unknown warrior at the Arc de Triomphe.
