RUHR STEEL.

DANGERS OF DUMPINC. FORESEEN LAY FRENCH. (Received 11.50 a.m.) Electric Telegraph—Press Association A- and N.Z. London, Oct. 25. Ihe Times’ Ranis correspondent says it is understood that the French Government informed the British Government that it was taking precautions against a sudden throning of Ruhr manufactured and unmanufactured steel on the world’s market. This does not represent a new decision, for the month’s dangers dumping, when normal conditions of trade witli the Ruhr returned, have been seen. There have been, say the French, no threats of hanging over England or other countries of a sudden release of Ruhr productions. It is neta matter of protecting Britain specially. The principle applies all round. France herself is aware of the damage to her industries if measures are not taken to prevent flooding. Between two and three million I tons of Ruhr steel is said to bo ; under French control.
