The Address-in-Reply debate went on to-day in the House uneventfully, being brightened up somewhat by a livey speech bv Air Atmore, who strongly condemned the Reform Party for. as he alleged, enlisting sectarianism into the Tauranga by-election. He declared that- he would move for a return of expenses received by Ministers’ secretaries and Hansard reporters at Oamaru and Tauranga while they were not doing public work Mr Mi Issey : Hear, hear. Mr Anderson, Minister of Labour, declared that not- a single penny of public money was spent by Ministers on electioneering. If one set of bigots set up a sectarian political, organisation and another set followed suit the Reform Party had nothing to do with either.
