CADORNA’S TROOPS EVACUATE
POSITIONS
Rome, Last Night
General Cadorna reports that the enemy made violent attacks in the Lagarina valley supported by a furious bombardment. The attacking columns were annihilated. The fighting was tlie fiercest at Pas de Buola, where the Sicilian and Taro brigades several times dashed out of the trenches and drove the enemy back with the bayonet. The battle is developing between Posnaupper and Astico, the enemy concentrating forces in the Astico valley. The intense concentration of artillery obliged the Italians to evacuate Mount Priafora. A desperate counter-attack regained possession of the position. Nevertheless die violent fire of the enemy artillery forced us to fall Kick slightly to the southern slopes of the mountain. IVe also evacuated Pima Corbin upon the Asiaeo plateau.
