Questions about bricks produced a fight between two members of the Assembly. There was little sign of trouble until Mr McGirr asked Mr Griffith. Minister for Public Works, whether it was not a fact that the Liberals were propounding tlieir questions because the brick combine had been asked to subscribe to the Libera] campaign, and there were angry denials by the Opposition. Mr Moxham shouted: “You’re a liar! ,; Mr McGirr’s reply was inaudible. Air Afoxham repeated his remark, and also inclined his head to beckon Mr ArcGirr outside. Mr ArcGirr promptly accepted the challenge. Half the House stampeded after the pair. The library was the scene of the conflict. Air Afoxham hit Mr AfoGirr on the nose, causing it to bleed. Then closing with Air AfoGirr he threw him. When the pair rose friends separated them. The suggestion was made to continue the fight on the tennis lawn, hut the combatants wore dissuaded. The approximate age of Moxham is fifty-three, and of AfoGirr twentyseven. Earlier in the day in Committee, after a division, the deputy-chairman ordered the lemoval of Air Meehan, whose attitude throughout the debate was alternately jocular and abusive to the members opposite.
