While proceeding by a cutter from the Bluff to Stewart Island on Monday evening, Emil Anderson, a single man, was washed overboard. .* search made proved fruitless. Thomas Dougherty, a labourer, with a companion was walking across the railway yard at Wymlham on Monday evening, when Dougherty was struck by a shunting engine and killed. Dougherty was 50 years of age. A DROWNING ACCIDENT. Hamilton, This Day. Ernest Richard Dennison, a railway porter, aged 27, was drowned while swimming in the lake yesterday. Dennison dived from a punt and sank. The body was recovered an hour and a half Inter. Deceased leaves a wt’e and young child.
