AVELLINGTON WOOL AND SKIN SALES.

Alessrs Levin and Company, Limited, under date of the 10th inst. as follows :

We offered to-day a considerable quantity of wool in fadges and bags and 2000 skins and 200 hides. As compared with the last fortnightly sale, skins, in sympathy with the fall in wool, showed a fall on coarse woolled skins of Id to §d, merino and lialfbred of id. We quote : Merinos, 7d to 7-Id; halfbreds, 7d to 7±d ; fine crossbreds, 6fd to 71 d ; coarse crossbreds, 6|d to 7d; dead skins, 41 d to 6d ; lambskins, 61 to 7 jd; green pelts, to 2s each. Tallow; The demand is limited. Prices unchanged. Hides: There was good competition at recent rates. We quote: Cows, light, 11s to 13s ; medium, 13s to 15s; heavy, 15s to 17s ; ox, light, 17s 6d to 20s; do. medium, 20s to 245; do. heavy, 24s to 265.

AIR D. CREWE’S WEEKLY REPORT.

Air D. Crewe reports in regard to the sale at the mart on Saturday, that a large entry of fruit, produce, fowls and pigs came forward. There was a good attendance of the public, and keen competition existed throughout. A good clearance resulted at the following prices : Plums, 3s to 4s 9d per case; apples, 2s 6d to ss; peaches, 6s to 7s; potatoes, 8s to 10s per cwt; cabbages, Is per dozen; turnips, Is; onions, Is ; fowls, Is Id to 6s per pair; duck, 3s od to os 6d per couple; horses, harness, £4 5s to £ll. A long list of miscellaneous goods were disposed of at bargain prices. Pigs brought 12s to 25s each. I have still enquiries for young pigs and poultry. Entries are invited for next Saturday’s sale, which will be advertised as received.
