AUCKLAND XV. v. AUSTRALIA. Peb Press Association. Auckland, February 11. The weather was fine for the second day of the Auckland Australia match. The attendance numbered nearly 10,000. The wicket was fair, and showed very little sigh of wear. Australia opened with Duff and AlcLeod. The feature of the afternoon play was the fine innings played by Trnmper. He hit freely all-round tho wicket, and made some good carpet drives. AlcLeod was batting two hours and forty minutes. Duff's 49 inelnded some magnificent late cuts. Kelly opened liis shoulders and hit hard for his contribution. He bit two fives. Auckland’s bowling was verygood, and the fielding fair. Scores : Australia. —First Innings. KONINI v. PAIIIATUA.

The above match was played on the ground of the former on Saturday last, when the visitors were defeated by 34 runs on the first innings. A feature of the game was the sound batting of Bottomley for the victors, although lie had about five lives in the first four overs. He compiled 38 runs before he was bowled by H. Pearcey. The fielding of the visitors was not as good as it should have been, several easy catches being missed. The onlybit of smart fielding throughout the game was a catch by W. Reeve. It was a most difficult one, the ball being hit very low. Chatwin bowled with great success for the Konini team, securing eight wickets for 25 runs. IV.
