Iho Right Hon. Joseph Chamberlain, in replying to a deputation from the Aborigines’ Protection Society, stated that Great Britain was pressing France to subject her citi.vns in t-ho New Hebrides to the same restrictions in regard to tho sale of firearms and liquor as the British residents.

The [Society is urging the extension to the Pacific of the humane policy practiced by Groat Britain since 1884.
