The Minister of Agriculture has requested the Chairman of the various stock boards to invite the leading stock breeders to a Conference to discuss the question of the live sto.de exportation. Several ocean steamship Companies offer special terms to convey first-class cattle to London, provided a constant supply is kept up. The past nine months 44,855 ounces of gold have been received from New Zealand for coinage iu the Sydney mint. Received noon. Sydney, This Day. A forecast of the Financial Statement says that owing to the present position of the finances it is practically impossible to do away with the 1.600,000 of taxation received through customs. It is expected the Treasurer will ask tho House to pass the estimates for six months and allow a readjustment of the tariff to stand over till estimates for the new financial year have to bo prepared. It is believed the deficits for the year will amount to half a million in addition to the accummulated deficit of the previous years. Mr Brunker, Colonial Secretary, stated in the Assembly that under the old electoral act the cost of a general election was about L 15,000, but under the new Act there was a continuous outlay. Already LOO,OOO had been spent and before another election comes round he believed fully 1.100,000 would have been expended.
