Cricket.
The Hawera Cricket Club will try conclusions against a second eleven of the Pahiatua County Cricket Club on Thursday next in Hall's paddock, play to commence at 1.30. The following will represent the P.C.C.C.’s second : Briggs, Dowsett, Darroch, Hare, H. H. Knight, Lucas, L. Monckton, lieeves, lteanev, Robinson, Tosswill. Emergencies—lnnis, Porritt, Beaufort. Re payment of subscriptions the Secretary of the Pahiatua Club desires to state that the Committee has decided to extend the time up to and including November 11th. On account of the suggested alterations in the Club (which, however, was vetoed at the last meeting), it is thought several have neglected to pay, lienee the extension of time. After the 11th rules 10 and 11 will be strictly enforced. On the 9th inst. (Prince of Wales Birthday) the first eleven of the P.C.C.C. will try conclusions with the Woodville C.C. at Woodville. The following will represent Pahiatua: —D. F. Hewat, T. F. Hewat, Chambers, Williams, Fraser, Wilson, Malcolm, Bottomley, Kutherfurd, Ganlt, Smith ; emergencies Harroch, Ileaney, Knight. Coach will leave Commercial hotel at 9 a.m. sharp. Wickets will be pitched at 10.30. The following team will represent the Hawera Cricket Club in the match on Saturday:—Stain ton, Wilson, Griffiths, Griffiths. Udy, G. and H. Bodmin, Mirams, N. Bodmin, Britland, Jenkins. Emergencies : —E. C. Meyer, Adam, Hamilton, R. Camp.
