The Public Trust Office, constituted by "The Public Trust Office Act, 1872.'' has been since much enlarged in its functions by smending Acts, to meet growing requirements. The Amendment Act of 1891 facilitates administration. authorises prompt distribution, provides absolute security against toss to estates from investments nr the discretion ol the Public trustee, and insures the regular payment of the interest.
The Security and Fidelity of the Pub. lie Trustee’s administration must be considered of the utmost importance to every person contemplating the appointment of a trustee. The colony gu/mtntees the fidelity of the administration, and Guarantees also the Integrity of the Capital Funds invested at the option of the Public Trustee. The Colony Guarantees also, on the capital funds arising for investment out of the properties placed in the Public Trust Office, a common rate of interest, to be paid quarterly. Free of all charges of the Public Trust Office. The value of this guarantee is in the Cuarantee of the Colony against loss from investments in bad or insufficient securiloss from delay in invesfc- ■ regular and punctual payest, free of all eharges of the ce. In the appointment of Trustees there must always be SerioUS concern as to the security of the capital funds ; and the larger the capital funds the greater must be the concern for security, and the loss for a high rate of interest.'
