Mr 11. R. Wilton, Tutaekara, wants tenders for bushfelling. At the annual meeting of the Northern Boot and Shoe Company, Auckland, the report show ed a profit of £4Ol. After the usual writing off, £“200 was left to carry forward to the profit and loss account, which now stands at £2030 on the credit -ide. No dividend was declared, as it is intended to purchase fresh machinery. At the last meeting of the Pahiatua School Committee a cheque was received from the local Choral and Orchestral Society for £lO, and also a cheque for an equal amount in the wav of subsidy from the Education Board, making a total of L‘2o towards the Play-ground Recreation Eund. It was decided that the money should be banked to a separate account, und as it will require about ns much more to put the ground in proper order, a sub- • •(-mniittee consisting of Messrs Fraser, Birnie, Bogle. Lee, and ’ *h was appointed to get up another ‘ inment n aid of the funds. We trust, movement will be well supported. On Saturday next Mr D. Crewe will offer bv public auction at the Mart, Pahiatua, a shop and dwelling at Mangatainoka, and section 41, opposite the butter factory. Mangatainoka; also at the same t’me, 5 tons of potatoes and sundry other articles, particulars of which will be found in advertising columns. We regret to learn that Mrs Winter, ' n., was sev.ed with a paralytic stroke last night, at her residence, Makuri, and | now lies in a critical condition.
