AEROPLANE MAILS.

AUCKLAND-INVERCARGILL SERVICE.

WELLINGTON, October G.

Before next winter the Post and Telegraph Department hopes to establish aeroplane mail services between Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, and Dunedin. This brief statement was made by the Postmaster-general (Mr J. B. Donald) when the estimates of the department were under consideration in the House of Representatives this afternoon. Seen after the House had risen "for the tea adjournment, Mr Donald said it as impossible at present to amplify the statement he had made in the House, although it was confidently hoped that the services would be inaugurate! before next winter. Details were still being considered by Cabinet, and nothing further could be announced until after it had given its approval of the scheme.
