After a long period of inactivity Pohutu Geyser, at Whakarewarewa, has again begun to play (says the Rotorua correspondent of the Auckland Star). One day recently big volumes of steam and water were being thrown 30 feet to 40 feet in the air, and the activity was continued on the following day. General satisfaction is felt at this evidence of Pohutu s intention to “carry on business as usual, as fears were being entertained that the force of the famous geyser had been expended.
