MR BENNETT’S PROPOSAL OPPOSED. ( LONDON. October 10. “ There is no doubt whatever that tin. Government will refuse. Mr Bennett’s plan,’ says the Daily Herald’s political correspondent. “It is clear that the proposals would only be possible if food and raw materials were taxed. Th< Government believes that a programme of economic co-operation within the Em pire can be evolved apart from tariffs.”
