CLOSER CO-OPERATION.

TRADE WITH AUSTRALIA.

GROWTH OF BETTER FEELING. WELLINGTON, October 9.

There is evidently a keener feeling today of co-operation between Australia and New Zealand in reciprocal trade and social relations than previously existed. This was mentioned by the Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr P. A. de la Perrelle), who said that the Trade and Tourist Commissioner (Mr L. J. Schmitt) had reported from Sydney that as a result of the Dominion Day reception a deputation of influential New Zealand men of affairs in Australia had waited on him and asked him to send on their behalf an invitation to the Prime Minister (Mr G. W. Forbes) to visit Australia on his way back from the Imperial Conference.

Mr Perrelle said that press clippings and photographs published by the Australian daily press of the Dominion Day celebrations were a fine advertisement for New . Zealand. He added that the Publicity Department was doing much good work to attract Australians to the Dominion during the coming season, and, he added, “we are looking forward to a record of patronage.”
