COLUMBA COLLEGE.

MONTHLY MEETING OF BOARD.

The monthly meeting of the Board of Governors of Columba College was held at First Church on Thursday last. There were present the Rev. J. J. Cairney (chairman), Mesdaraes R. A. Ewing and W. Hewitson, Drs W. H. Borrie, J. Elder, and J. Lawson, the Rev. George Miller, Messrs J. C. Begg and J. J. Clark. Miss MTntosh, M.A. (principal), was also present. Mrs Ewing reported that the work of renovating the two large dormitories by Messrs Omand Bros, had been carefully and artistically carried out, and also that the music rooms had been most satisfactorily repapered and painted.

It was decided to hold an “ At Home ” at the college on Friday, September 26, to enable parents to make the acquaintance of Miss MTntosh, who has taken charge from the beginning of the third term.

The election of officers for the ensuing year, which had been postponed on account of the illness of Mr W. Gow, was as follows:—President, the Rev. J. J. Cairney; vice-president, Dr J. Elder; auditor, Mr T. D. B. Paterson; treasurer, Mr W. Gow; secretary, Mrs D. B. Waters. The members of the Finance, Educational, and House Committees were unanimously re-elected.
