Farmers are rather concerned over the recent increase in the price of what are known as “small seeds.” It was stated at the meeting of the South Canterbury Executive of the Farmers’ Union the other day that the price this year for these seeds is very much in excess of that ruling last year. It was reported that individual farmers had been told that this was due to a shortage in .England, and that they should place their orders early if they wanted to avoid being left without tiieir requirements. It was decided that inquiries be made as to the cause for such an increase, and that a report be furnished for the next meeting.
