IMPERIAL CONFERENCE

OPENING ON TUESDAY WEEK.

PREPARATIONS WELL IN HAND. LONDON, September 16.

The Imperial Conference will be opened at noon on September 30 at No. 10 Downing street, Mr Ramsay MacDonald presiding. Thereafter the heads of the delegations only will meet at Downing street, and different sub-committecs will be scattered in different departments. RUGBY, September 18. Preparations are well advanced for the Imperial Conference, which begins on September 30. The dominion delegations will begin to arrive within a few days. They will be accommodated in various large hotels, and a fleet of cars will be at their disposal during the conference.

ENTERTAINING OF DELEGATES.

MANY FUNCTIONS ARRANGED. LONDON, September 18.

Already dozens of functions have been arranged in honour of the Imperial Conference delegates, beginning with a State dinner at Lancaster House on September 29. Their Majesties have fixed the Empire banquet to the Prime Ministers at Buckingham Palace for October 3.
