ROWING.

OXFORD BOAT CREW. RESIGNATION OF COACHES. LONDON, February 5. There is anxiety in rowing circles at Oxford in consequence of the sudden resignation of the three coaches of the boat race crew, apparently owing to dissensions with Mr Graham, president of the Boat Club, over the question of the order of rowing. The Oxford boat crew to-day practised without a coach. It is admitted that the president can exercise autocratic power, but he generally works in consultation with the committee. February 7. A meeting of the college captains at Oxford, by 12 votes to 10, supported the coaches, and Mr Graham resigned the presidency and his place in the boat. Air D. Tinne, who succeeded him, requested the coaches to resume, and practice will be resumed to-morrow. EIGHT-OARED CONTEST. SYDNEY, February 9. In the Champion Light-weight Eights ot New South Wales, Drummoyne beat Aloeman by a length and a-quarter. Sydney was a close third. It was a severe race, the winner’s effort being brilliant throughout.
