CONVERSION OF CAR.
THREE MONTHS IN GAOL. AUCKLAND, September 28. William Thomas Russell, aged 26, a baker s carter, and a twin brother named James Russell, were charged with converting to their own use a motor car valued at £3OO. William Russell pleaded guilty and James Russell not guilty. William Russell stole the car and picked up his brother and another man. They were bailed up on the road by a salesman employed by the car owner. An argu ment ensued and was followed by blows. When a constable arrived the three men in the car bolted. The two Russells were arrested and the other man escaped. Each of the accused was sentenced to three months’ . imprisonment.
