A recent traveller in Morocco was Sir Thomas Parkinson, a New Zealander, who is at present visiting Wanganui (reports an exchange). Sir Thomas was not exactly in love-with the country, which he describes as “ desperately poor.” Practically the only substantial revenue the French got out of Morocco was derived from rock phosphate deposits, which of late had been contributing largely towards New Zealand’s supply.
