A good deal of surprise was expressed the other day that the Marlborough Aero Club did not take advantage of the golden opportunity afforded by the visit of the Tasman flyers to charge a small fee for admission to the landing field, as this would certainly have resulted in a fairly substantial “ gate ” (reports the Express). The club, however, decided that, in view of the warin support which it has secured from the public, and in view of the fact that its primary object is the encouragement of aviation, it was right and proper to offer the public the freest opportunity to witness the arrival of the three aeroplanes and to greet the distinguished Visitors.
