THE POSTAL SERVICE.

The Postal Department announces the following changes of officers to higher executive positions throughout the Dominion : — Mr S. M. Harrison, principal of the postal division, G.P.0., Wellington, to be chiet postmaster at Dunedin. Mr R. H. Boyd, chief postmaster, Hamilton, to be chief postmaster at Wellington. Mr C. A. Mathieson, chief postmaster, Napier, to be chief postmaster at Hamilton. Mr D. E. C. Brodie, chief postmaster, New Plymouth, to be chief postmaster at Napier. Mr F. W. Fur by, supervisor of the postal division, G.P.0., Wellington, to be principal at the G.P.O. Mr A. Shelton, relieving officer,. G.P.0., Wellington, and at present acting chief postmaster at Dunedin, to be chief postmaster at New Plymouth. Mr C. R. Ingram, accountant at G.P.0., Wellington, to be chief postmaster at Timaru. Mr D. M. M'lntosh, postmaster at Greymouth, to be postmaster at Hastings. Mr J. W. M‘Lean, postmaster at Masterton, to be relieving officer at G.P.0., Wellington. Mr 0. J. Wright, accountant, Christchurch, to be accountant at G.P.0., Wellington. Mr J. J. Mulvey, postmaster at Ashburton, to be postmaster at Masterton. Mr H. G. Davis, postmaster at Westport, transferred to Greymouth. Mr W. W. Sutton, supervisor of telegraphs at Palmerston North, to be postmaster at Hawera. » « Mr D. C. P Hamlin supervisor of telegraph branch at Hamilton, transferred to a similar position at Napier. Mr J. W Furrie, supervisor of the telegraph branch at Invercargill, to beassistant postmaster at Dunedin. Mr W. P. Aldridge, stores manager at Auckland, to be chief postmaster at Oamaru. Mr S. J. Dunne, supervisor of the money order and saving bank branch, Christchurch, to be accountant at Christchurch The positions of chief postmaster at Christchurch, Wanganui, Palmerston North, and Invercargill have been regraded and filled by the officers at present holding such positions. All the above promotions and transfers date from October 1.
