OFFICIAL CHANGES. The Liverpool and London and Globe Insurance ’ Company, Ltd., and Its associated companies in Australia and -New Zealand—the Central Insurance Company, Ltd., and the Thames and Mersey Marine Insurance Company, Ltd. announce the following official changes to take effect as from January 1 next:— Mr Charles Danvers, manager for Australia and New Zealand, having expressed the wish to retire after 25 years’ active service in ‘ that capacity, the general manager (Mr Hugh Lewis*) advises that Mr Danvers’s wish has been acceded to with reluctance and regret on the part of the company at head office. Mr Danvers will retire officially on pension as from December 31, but will relinquish his active duties on September 30. Coincident with the resignation of Mr Danvers, the general manager, Mr Hugh Lewis, has decided upon a redistribution of control of the Globe and Central Companies’ business in Australia. Mr T. M. Douglas, hitherto assistant manager, has been appointed manager in Melbourne. Sir Douglas will have supervision over the States of Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania, and Western Australia. Mr lan A. Brown, manager of the Globe at Birmingham, has been appointed manager in Sydney of the Globe and Central, with supervision over the States of New South Wales, Queensland, and also the islands of the Pacific. He will also be public officer of the company and manager for Australia of the Thames and Mersey. Mr O. Hargrave, hitherto 'deputy assistant manager at Sydney, becomes assistant manager. Mr W. B. Clarke, local manager for New South Wales, will continue to act in that capacity. Mr W. H. Cowper, who until 18 months ago was South Island manager, was appointed manager for New Zealand at the beginning of last year. The business of the company in New Zealand will in_ future be separated from Australia. Mr Cowper, who is well known in both countries, will continue to have his headquarters at Christchurch.
