Cathedral Chimes also got Ahuriri, that won the Ashburton Sapling Stakes, the Wellington Gold Cup, and the wonderful performance of winning two New Zealand Trotting Cups. Kohara won the New Zealand Sapling Stakes, the New Zealand Derby, Champion Stakes, the Auckland Cup. and last year’s New Zealand Trotting Cup. Taurekareka won the New Zealand Sapling Stakes, the Champion Stakes, the Great Northern and New Zealand Derbies in record time, still holding the record of 3min 29sec for the race. Taraire, also by Four Chimes, won the great Australasian championship, run at Perth, Western Australia, beating the famous Great Bingen. It is said that Taraire possesses the greatest staying power of any horse seen in New Zealand for many years. A glance at the above performances will convince breeders of trotting stock that they have at their service r sire that has proved himself one of the best (sires ever seen in the Dominion.
