A thrilling race was held between the famous Flying Scotsman, express of the London and North Eastern Railway, which runs from London to Edinburgh, a distance of 392 miles without a stop, and the giant 18-seater air liner City of Glasgow, of the Imperial Airways. The aeroplane won by twenty minutes after making two stops. Our photograph shows the aeroplane flying over the express on the Berwick Bridge, which spans the River Tweed on the border line between England and Scotland. - Fox, photo.
