In the course of an address on electricity at a weekly luncheon of the Rotary Club in Timaru, Rotarian E. F. Hollands said that electricity for domestic uses has made rapid strides, especially for cooking (reports the Post). In order to cook on a large scale, however, with domestic profit, as against coal or gas, electricity should be available for that purpose at a price not exceeding 2d per unit. The average cost per person, per day, is under one. unit, where the household is over four adults, when cooking is undertaken on an efficient electric range. -
