A freak lamb has made its .appearance among the flock of Mr A. F. Cook, Waipukurau, the animal having six legs (states the Hawke’s Bay Tribune). The forelegs are normal, also two of the hind ones, the extra legs being minus fleshy qualities. The lamb is a healthy-looking specimen, but because of internal abnormalities it cannot be kept alive. . “If we get back to freedom of competition, to the non-restriction of output, and to payment by results, we in New Zealand have nothing to fear from any competitors,” declared a delegate at the Farmers’ Union Conference in Wellington (reports the Evening Post). He added that our present methods in workshops would both amuse and shock any up-to-date workman from the States.
