It has been estimated that it requires the annual production of four rubber trees to provide i ..bber for one motor car tyre. This means that every inhabitant of the United States must have at least one rubber tree working for him. With reference to the war graves of soldiers who fell in the assault against the Maoris near Waitara at the opening of the Maori war in Taranaki, the New Plymouth Rotary Club has decided to take out to the locality Mr John Andrews, who is thought to be the only man living who can locate the graves, and have them located with pegs (reports a northern paper). Subseqently, it is intended to approach the Minister of Internal Affairs with a- request that the graves be marked in some fitting manner.
